Policies
- Advance reservations are required. We will take cash or a check as payment however, a valid Visa or MasterCard Credit Card number and expiration date is required to secure a reservation until arrival. Your first night's stay will be charged upon making a reservation. The remainder of your room charges will be due upon check-in. If you are using a personal check for the depositit is due within seven (7) days of making a reservation.
- Every reservation is subject to a fourteen (14) day [seven (7) days during Spring and Fall seasons] cancellation policy. Cancellations made within fourteen (14) days of the scheduled arrival will result in the loss of your deposit. Upon checking in, you will be charged for the balance of your scheduled stay. Should you need to depart prior to your scheduled departure date, you will be refunded the balance of your charges only if we are able to re-rent the room. Although we will make every effort to re-rent your room, we cannot guarantee that this effort will be successful on short notice.
- Check-in time is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Should your travel arrangements bring you to the Island earlier than check-in time, please feel free to stop by. If your room is ready, we will gladly check you in. If not, we will hold your luggage while you begin your adventures in Friday Harbor. Should you plan to arrive after 6:00 pm, please let us know and we will make other arrangements.
- Check out time is 11:00 am. We would be happy to hold any luggage until your departure, help you interpret ferry schedules and get you on your way to your next destination on time.
- A maximum of two guests (including children) can be accommodated in all of our rooms. Our rooms are not suitable for children under the age of ten.
- Although we love pets, our facility is not equipped to handle pets of any kind. Boarding of pets may be possible at kennels located nearby. Ask us for contact information when reserving.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the Inn or on the veranda. Smoking is permitted in the garden areas. Please consider the comfort of our non-smoking guests. Anyone smoking in a guest room will be charged a $100 cleaning fee.
- A full breakfast is served at 9:00 am in the parlor (**except for dates noted above when an enhanced contenental breakfast featuring our signature granola, fruit and yogurt parfaits along with baked items and our Kirk House custom blend coffee will be served). Coffee and tea are available at 6:00 am in the parlor. Please let us know if you are allergic to dairy, nuts or fruit or are a vegetarian and we will modify your meals to accommodate your allergy. If you need to catch an early ferry, or have an early morning activity, we would be happy to provide you with some items to take with you instead of a full breakfast. In order to insure that we can meet your needs, please let us know by 5:00 pm the day before if this is needed. We serve afternoon refreshments on the veranda or in the parlor. Hot beverages are available for our guests 24 hours a day.
- Due to San Juan County health department regulations, use of the kitchen by guests for food preparation is strictly prohibited.
Gift selections of wine and champagne, snacks, chocolates, or flowers can be made available for special occasions. Please let us know if you have any requests for specific items and for pricing information. Please request these items at least three days in advance of your arrival.
